The Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) provides 2,400 Arlington households with access to nutritious, supplemental groceries, free of charge. Throughout this COVID-19 pandemic, AFAC is continuing to support a growing number of Arlington households, increasing the need for food donations from the public.
AFAC is in urgent need of unopened, unexpired, and unprepared foods. Please stick to these categories so AFAC can preassemble thousands of uniformed bags of food for pick-up and delivery to families in need:
– Low sodium tomato products (diced, paste, and sauce)
– Low sodium canned tuna
– Low sodium canned beans
– Low sodium canned soup
– Canned vegetables
– Peanut butter (in plastic jars)
– Low sugar cereal
Fairlington Villages is collecting food on behalf of AFAC at its Management Office at 3001 S. Abingdon Street. There will be a box, in which to place the food items, outside the office from 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday – Friday and from 9:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday … until further notice.
